I’m happy to announce that the Sitefinity community has been very active lately creating new items for Sitefinity’s Marketplace.

Events Map Plugin

Events Map is a plug-in that displays events on a global map via Google Maps. It produces the map with pins of all the events you have available on your website. A click of the pin will open a billboard-type section on the map with the event details with a link to the event page.

Events Rotator Plugin

Events Rotator is a plug-in that displays events in a rotator fashion anywhere on your site. It slides through all the events you have available on your website and displays a nicely formatted thumbnail, title, and time of the event. A click of the slideshow will take you to the full event page

I keep noticing new Sitefinity-related blog posts and I've struggled to find a good place to highlight these articles.

To remedy this, I created a new Twitter account.  I'll use this Twitter account to broadcast Sitefinity-related news & web pages I stumble across in my Internet travels. 

If you've written something about Sitefinity; toss me an email (gabe@thiswebsite.com) and I'll give you some link love.

I don't plan to follow anyone else with this Twitter account.  So don't be offended if I don't follow you. This Twitter account will only be used for Sitefinity-related updates.

Sitefinity community member Chris Bond recently launched a Sitefinity Community Modules web site.

SelArom published another couple of blog posts describing how to customize the starting directory & permissions used by the File Manager inside RadEditor.

Mike kicked off a great discussion in the Sitefinity forums entitled "Integrating SharePoint and Sitefinity".  I'm very interested in seeing this story evolve. 

We have a few customers who are already using Sitefinity alongside SharePoint.  I would love to see details on how this was accomplished and get feedback regarding how we can make this easier.

If you have any interest in this topic I encourage you to participate in this discussion! 

If MySpace taught us anything, it's that your value as a human-being is directly proportional to how many virtual friends you have and virtual groups you belong to.  If you see someone with 700 virtual friends, you can be reasonably sure they are a terrific person and can be fully trusted to raise your children.  :)

If you want answers to your Sitefinity questions, the forums are still the best place to be.  However, the groups above might be useful for networking opportunities. 

If you don't immediately get accepted to the group, don't be offended.  I don't always get instant notification when requests are pending approval.  I will eventually get it done though.

Sitefinity community member SelArom wrote these articles back in August 2008.  On several occasions I've done a Google search for Sitefinity information and been led to SelArom's web site.  Once there, I discovered my answer inside his code samples.
